"Ah yes. It seems sooo long ago. I remember my sophomore year trying out different organizations. I felt like Goldie-locks. This club was too this, the other too that. They seemed to be a universal sameness and I felt somewhat like an odd ball. Then I meet members from LASO. It was just right. Although we were all Latinos, there was not TOO much sameness. We varied in ethnic background, color, religion, political beliefs, economic and migration statuses. We had all walks of life! We had similar goals, which was to learn more about our culture and to dispense with stereotypes. I made life-time friends there. And the organization is still a source of potential friends." -Ruby Tapia, AS '94 (Modern Languages)
